About Suk Savings
A Kitchen for Learning About Money
We started simply: a few people in Khon Kaen who wanted to understand their finances better, without the pressure of salespeople or confusing jargon.

How Suk Savings Began
Suk Savings grew out of a simple observation: many capable, hard-working people in their forties and fifties felt genuinely uncertain about their financial situation — not because they lacked intelligence, but because no one had ever explained things in a way that felt relevant to their lives.
Our founder, a long-time resident of Khon Kaen with a background in adult education and personal finance, began running small informal sessions for neighbours and family friends. The conversations were warm, practical, and — most importantly — useful. Word spread, and what started as a kitchen-table discussion became a structured programme.
Today, Suk Savings operates from a comfortable space on Mittraphap Road, welcoming people from across the Khon Kaen area who want a thoughtful, unhurried introduction to managing and planning their money.
Our Mission
What We Are Here to Do
We exist to make financial knowledge accessible to people in midlife — not as a product pitch, but as a genuine learning experience. We teach what money is, how savings and banking work in Thailand, and how to plan for the years ahead with a clear head and a calm approach.
- Education-first — we never sell financial products
- Thai context — all examples use local banking and baht
- Pace that suits midlife learners, not young graduates
- Small groups where questions are always welcome
The People
Who You Will Learn With
Our small team brings a mix of teaching experience, financial knowledge, and genuine warmth to every session.
Pranom Maneekhun
Founder & Lead Instructor
Over eighteen years in adult education, Pranom developed the Simple Ingredients and Family Recipe courses from scratch. She leads most sessions herself and keeps each group feeling like a conversation rather than a class.
Somchai Wattana
Programme Coordinator
Somchai handles enrolments, materials, and the practical side of running courses smoothly. He is usually the first voice you hear when you call and is happy to answer any questions before you commit.
Nopporn Chairat
Content & Materials Specialist
Nopporn researches and writes the printed guides, worksheets, and planning notebooks used in every course. His background in Thai banking means the content always reflects how things actually work locally.
Our Approach
How We Keep Quality High
We hold ourselves to clear standards — because the people who attend our courses deserve to receive something thoughtful and genuinely useful.
Adult Learning Methods
Our courses follow established adult education principles — short explanations, plenty of practice, and time for questions. We do not lecture; we converse.
Regularly Updated Content
Thai banking rules and deposit options change from time to time. We review all materials at the start of each new intake to keep information current and accurate.
Privacy & Discretion
Personal financial situations are private matters. We never ask participants to share sensitive numbers with the group, and any notes taken remain strictly within the session.
No Product Promotion
We have a firm policy against promoting or recommending specific financial products, funds, or advisors inside courses. What we teach is knowledge, not a sales pipeline.
Printed & Tangible Materials
Every participant receives printed guides they can take home, revisit, and share with family. We believe learning that you can hold in your hands stays with you longer.
Feedback After Each Intake
We ask every participant to share honest feedback at the end of their course. That feedback shapes what we keep, what we change, and what we add for the next group.
Our Values
What Guides Everything We Do
Suk Savings was built around three ideas that came directly from listening to the people we work with. First: financial knowledge should feel accessible, not intimidating. When someone sits in one of our sessions and says "I finally understand how that works," that is the moment we are working toward.
Second: context matters. A budgeting exercise that uses Thai baht, Thai bank account types, and situations relevant to daily life in Isan is far more useful than a generic example from a textbook written for a different country. Every course we run is grounded in the real financial landscape of Thailand.
Third: people learn better when they feel respected. We design our sessions to be welcoming and unhurried, with no pressure to race ahead or perform. Someone who has been managing a household for twenty years brings significant experience to any conversation about money — we honour that experience and build on it, rather than starting from zero.
These three ideas shape every choice we make — from how we write our printed materials, to how we structure a session, to how we answer an enquiry call. If you have questions about what to expect from a Suk Savings course, we are always happy to talk it through at [email protected].
